Colonel Robert Morris

Robert is also included in the 2008 & 2009 Marquis Who's Who In America. Following a career that has spanned over 30 years, Colonel Robert was blessed to have co-written three songs with Grand Ole Opry Star & Songwriter's Hall Of Fame Inductee, Charlie Louvin.
CRM: The Early Years
Born in Memphis, Colonel Robert's professional career started in the back room juke joints of Memphis.
A gifted drummer, Robert was part of the world famous "Memphis Sound."
A child of the 50's, he later thumbed his way to places like Texas and Nevada, finally landing in California, where he was awashed with the sounds of the surf movement that was not far from the Rockabilly sound he would later play.
In the late 60's, Robert found his music evolving to reflect the times that were truly changing. Flower power turned to gun power as we marched into Vietnam. And Robert's music came from his views and shared fears with a country looking for answers!
The 70's
Country Goes Outlaw
Then the 70's found Colonel Robert touring with Charlie Feathers and other legends. Robert was helping to create a country sound that was gritty and real. Johnny Paycheck, Waylon and Outlaw Country was hot, while George Jones and Mel Street was teaching the world how to cheat, one song at a time. But Robert's music and life was not through changing yet. During this time Robert was asked to lend his talent to the Southern Rock movement. The Colonel found his Southern roots in the music, and loved the lifestyle.
In 1988, Robert was given a cameo role in the Finnish movie, "Leningrad Cowboys Go America," an instant cult classic.
Colonel Robert started writing and recording his own material, finding success with his hit song, "The Trucker's Last Ride," a song that still enjoys air play in Country Music today.
Now after thirty years of twang guitars & whiskey soaked bars, he has lived the songs that he writes!
In June of 2008 the Colonel released, "Highway Hero" a trucking CD!
Colonel Robert included on the CD a song that is close to his heart. "Mother's Hall Of Fame" was co-written by Mr. Charlie Louvin.
Now it's 2013
Charlie Louvin passed on to Colonel Robert, one of Charlie's personal guitars. Both legends agreed that there is a spirit that lives on in a songwriter's guitar, and they want Charlie's spirit to be in the songs Robert writes with this guitar.
Caylan Hascall drove all the way from Charlie's home outside of Nashville to Colonel Robert's home in N. Mississippi, to deliver the guitar by hand.
We lost Charlie in 2011. His strength and gift cannot be replaced.
Colonel Robert is now writing the first in a three book series titled "The Blue Lighthouse Mysteries" with "Murder At Butterfly Cove." There will also be a music CD of songs about life on the sea, lighthouses, lost loves and other stories from the book.
