First Love Last Kiss
Saturday, January 23, 2010

I was in a grave yard, a place I'd been before
But I sensed something different, as I closed the T-Bird's door
Then over in the corner, a stone unlike the rest
With only these four words, "First Love, Last Kiss"
I wondered what had happen, who laid here in the ground
Then I felt an errie presence, that made me turn around
There stood an old man, bent by time and a shovel's pain
And I heard myself asking, did he know the person's name
He turned away in silence, then I heard him start to moan
He said Son there are things you hear, in the grave yard when you're alone
Sometimes the graves will talk, in the dark late at night
I felt the things he told me, start to fill my soul with fright
He told me of a party, when he was just a teen
He was to be the Prom King, his girl would be the Queen
A prank somehow got started, with the girl across the tracks
Once the pack was made, there was no turning back
You see it was my job, to steal away her heart
And make her believe, that we would never part
She swore to me her life, our love her only wish
She said we'd be together, as I laughed behind each kiss
The faithful night arrived, the plans were all in place
I still see the horror, that came upon her face
Her note said it's over, at the rail she slipped the latch
Tonight would be the last time, she'd have to cross those tracks
That night two lost their lives, only one lays in a grave
I took away her life, and with mine I've had to pay
This job is all I have, since she won't let me go
One day I'll lay beside her, in this ground so cold
She swore we'd be together, I guess she got her wish
Cause each day I'm reminded, of her "First Love, Last Kiss"
